From Homo sapiens to Homo sentiens: from the human as a knowing being to the human as a sensing being.
The collective brings together different disciplines, perspectives, and experiences, working across architecture, urbanism, research, and adaptive reuse. At its core is the idea of homo sentiens: the human being as a sensing body, connected to and shaped by its environment.
Lucas Knust, founder of sentiens, is a Chilean-German architect. He holds a Master’s degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of Stuttgart in Germany and a Licentiate degree in Architecture from PUCV in Chile. His international academic experience also includes the TH Köln in Germany and, during his Master’s studies, an exchange at IUAV Venice focused on Urban Planning for Climate Transition.
