The sentiens is an architecture collective focused on integrating climatic elements into design, creating spaces that respond to weather patterns and environmental conditions. The studio aims to develop thoughtful and functional solutions that align with the natural rhythms of the climate.

The term “collective” reflects its collaborative nature, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and cultures. This approach enriches the design process with unique perspectives and broadens the possibilities for addressing complex challenges. While its foundation is in architecture, the studio’s journey is open to defining which elements are important to integrate, exploring the interplay between human experience, the environment, and the forces of the climate. At its core, Sentiens emphasizes the human capacity to feel and connect with the surrounding world, using this as a guiding principle in its work.

Lucas Knust, who initiated sentiens, is an architect currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Universität Stuttgart in Germany. He Graduated with a Licentiate degree in Architecture at the Escuela de Arquitectura y Diseño ( e[ad] ) of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso in Chile. As part of his current Master’s program, he completed an exchange focused on Urban Planning for Transition at IUAV Venice in Italy.
